Our next seminar is on May 8, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. Seating is very limited so please register online or call our office at 919-825-3112.
Our seminar for veterans and their families covers the main cash payment benefits that can assist veterans with obtaining and paying for needed care. The seminar lasts about 45 minutes and there is a question and answer session.
Veterans Pension: This benefit is available to war-time veterans who meet the age or disability requirements and who also meet the financial status requirements. Proper estate planning can help veterans meet these requirements.
Aid & Attendance: Veterans who receive a pension or compensation payment may also be eligible to receive aid & attendance payments if they need assistance with activities of daily living. Unlike Medicaid that pays only for skilled nursing care, aid & attendance benefits can be used for assisted living expenses or to pay a caregiver to come into the home to help with activities of daily living.
Veterans Compensation: Veterans who have an illness or injury that either started during or was caused by an event during active duty service may be eligible to receive a monthly benefit. The amount of the payment is based on the severity of the problem. Veterans who are unable to work due to service-connected problems may also be eligible for a higher payment due to their inability to work.
